Every cat lover knows the feeling: you’ll do anything to give your cat the best possible life. At Petree, we believe that living with cats should not only be practical, but beautiful too. Your cat is part of the family, and deserves to be in the spotlight from time to time. Sometimes, you have to think out of the box (cube).
When the collaboration with Soraya from Kamatéworld came to life, that idea became reality. What happens when you let an artist loose on a Petree Cube? It gets taken to the next level.
Soraya’s creative journey began in 2019, during a difficult time when she was looking for a creative outlet. What started with painting sneakers quickly evolved into a recognizable style, turning everything around her into a canvas — from shoes and controllers to wall art, and now even a litter box. She has collaborated with major brands such as Red Bull, MTV, XBOX, Activision and De Bijenkorf, but her proudest milestone is a large-scale collaboration with JD Sports.
Her work is playful, colorful, and often inspired by anime, always with a personal twist. For this project, that personal layer came from her biggest source of inspiration at home: her cat Simba.
Simba is one of those cats with a strong personality, you know the type, not one to cooperate “just because.” Like many cats, his story didn’t start easy. He was a street cat who was taken in by Soraya’s family. Her younger brothers used to feed him occasionally, and over time he kept coming back. Eventually, after a bet following a Barcelona win, Simba officially became part of the family.
Due to medical issues, Simba has difficulty urinating and struggles with post-cleaning. Soraya used to spend a lot of time cleaning the litter box and tidying up after him, so the Petree Cube has been a valuable addition to their home. Despite being 14 years old, Simba adapted to the Cube immediately. According to Soraya, the biggest benefit is convenience: less cleaning, and a calm, consistent place for Simba. And that might be the biggest win, because when your cat is happy, your life becomes a lot easier too. It was clear to see how well Soraya takes care of Simba, despite his challenges. That’s what being a true cat lover looks like.
When Soraya started customizing the Petree Cube, it felt completely natural to her. The clean shape gave her creative freedom without limitations. That creativity is reflected in the final result: a beautifully painted Lion King scene, something she had previously created as wall art for her nephew’s room. What started as an idea with different colors evolved into a design where Simba takes center stage, both literally and figuratively. A warm pink-and-blue aesthetic that instantly stands out. A nostalgic design inspired by Simba, created to make the next cat owner happy through our giveaway.
And that’s exactly what makes this project so special. The Petree Cube is designed to make life easier for both cat and owner. But through Soraya’s work, it gains an extra dimension. It becomes something you don’t want to hide, but proudly display. A litter box that is not only functional, but full of character.
The “Lion King” Petree Cube is a beautiful reflection of creativity and the unique personality of your cat. Cats are independent, creativity is personal, and it’s powerful to see both come together in a product that makes life easier for cat owners.
In the end, it’s all about the small moments between humans and animals. A cat that feels at ease. A home that feels just a little better. And a product that fits seamlessly into that lifestyle. For Soraya and Simba, scooping is a thing of the past. With creativity and personality, the “Lion King” Petree Cube has become a one-of-a-kind litter box, ready to make another cat and owner happy.
I asked Soraya if she had a message for fellow cat owners. Her answer was simple: owning a cat is a commitment. Beyond all the fun moments, they deserve the best care, even if some cats require more than others. In the end, an easy and comfortable life for both cat and owner is what matters most.
